CNC Controller Backup Batteries

If your CNC controller’s battery pack is proprietary, CNC Parts Dept., Inc. can supply a replacement or make a recommendation.

Having a battery in your CNC controller allows the parameters, PAL, and programs to be stored in the event of a power outage or while the machine is powered off. If you ever see a “battery low” light, do not turn off the controller until the battery is changed, or you could lose all the machine settings.

Backup Batteries Guidelines

  1. Replace the batteries every 3 to 5 years.
  2. Only use a similar, appropriate battery pack. Never use regular “alkaline” batteries.
  3. NiCad batteries often come uncharged from the store. Be certain to charge yours before installation.
  4. Always change the batteries with the controller on.
