Fagor Retrofit F.A.Q.

Frequently asked questions:

Q: What is the lead time?
A: New Fagor controllers are normally in stock. We can usually be on site withing 2 weeks.

Q: How long does the work take?
A: Usually 2-3 days, during which time your machine will be out of operation.

Q: How much does it cost?
A:  Actual dollar amounts will vary based on the options you choose. We will provide a prompt quotation once we know more about your specific application. We offer the controller, installation and training for about less than retail cost.

Q: How long does it take to learn?
A: We will stay on site until your main operator is comfortable downloading and running a program, it usually takes one day of training.

Q: Will I be able to run my old programs?
A: Programs written for 3 and 4 axis machines are relatively easy to transfer to the Fagor. If your shop runs 5 axis programs, there will be some manipulation required. In some cases it may be easier to start with the computer model and post it with a Fagor specific postprocessor. Fagor offers a conversion program to update low level NC code from older Fagor controllers to 8055 language.

Q: Do you offer a postprocessor for the Fagor?
A: We have programming capabilities and resources to customize a ‘postprocessor’ for your machine. The cost of programming varies and can range from $500 to $2000.

Q: Is there a warranty?
A: Yes. One year on parts, if due to a manufacturer’s defect.

Q: What if I have more questions?
A: CNC Services Inc. offers free telephone support to all of our customers. Call them today.
